13 Days: Snapshots from 'Dear Boston'

In the 26 days leading up to the Boston Marathon on April 21, ESPNBoston.com will share inspiring stories, detail important logistics and go inside the planning for what promises to be an event like no other in the wake of last year's bombings. There are 13 days until the race.

The Boston Public Library on Monday opened the "Dear Boston: Messages from the Marathon Memorial" exhibition, a selection of items from the makeshift memorial that sprung up on Boylston Street last year in the wake of the marathon bombings.

The exhibit will be on display through May 11. Here's a selection of photos from Monday's opening:
