There's nothing better than the collegiate experience. Unless, of course, the professional ranks come calling.

Two star players -- C.J. Aiken and Carl Jones -- for Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia know that feeling all too well.

Aiken and Jones led the Hawks to an 18-14 overall record last season while earning a bid to the NIT. Both Jones and Aiken have recently signed contracts to play pro ball. Aiken will be attending training camp with the Sacramento Kings. He played for the Kings in the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 4.6 points and 2.6 rebounds. The 6-9 forward left Saint Joseph’s after his junior year after averaging 10.4 points last season and ending his career with 319 blocks, ranking second on the Hawks’ all-time list.

Jones will begin his career in Poland -- with the WKS Slask Wroclaw of the Tauron Basket Liga. The season opens in October. An All-Big 5 third-team selection in 2013, Jones led SJU in scoring for three straight years, averaging 14.7 points as a senior. He finished his career as the third leading scorer in school history, with 1,845 points.

No doubt the loss of Aiken and Jones will be a huge blow to Saint Joseph's. How will the Hawks do this season after losing two of its standouts? Find out over Thanksgiving weekend, when Saint Joseph’s will be one of eight teams participating in the nationally televised Old Spice Classic. For more information, visit www.oldspiceclassic.com.
