Hey y’all!! So the Lady Vols have survived to play another weekend. I wish winning regionals were as easy as checking it off a list, but it wouldn’t be the NCAA tournament if it were.
After facing Charleston Southern and Virginia Tech, we played Lipscomb University for the regional championship game. Each game and every inning of that weekend was a battle. We could not take any team lightly. After a tight game and a 2-0 victory over Lipscomb, we were able to celebrate making it to the next round, which is super regionals.
Over the last week, we seniors have experienced some exciting, yet sad moments. We played our last game and had our last practice at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in Knoxville. There have been so many memorable moments at that place, from good to bad, that we have shared with our teammates, friends, coaches, family and our awesome fans. It has been an unforgettable four years! I would like to thank everyone who has supported us and been a part of our journey to where we are today.
We have arrived in Norman, Oklahoma, after a long day of traveling on Wednesday. We are so excited just to be playing another weekend. Many of you are probably wondering about the rematch of the national championship game from last year. Yes, it was an exciting one, but we are different teams this year.
The Lady Vols are staying focused on what we do best and enjoying the ride. We are going to give our all for Tennessee when we step on the field on Friday night. For now, we are enjoying some free time. We are going to do some team bonding by seeing a movie together, going to dinner and practicing a little later.
Thank you all for reading, and as always, GO VOLS!
