|Chiney Ogwumike and her Stanford teammates had a blast catching up with rivals at Pac-12 media day.|
Hello again! It's Chiney Ogwumike, lucky No. 13 from Stanford University, and I'm so excited to be back.
My life as a collegiate basketball player at one of the world's most renowned universities is “different.” 2 Chainz would definitely agree that we are a little bit different at Stanford. To start with, we are Nerd Nation: We go hard on and off the court. Stanford is one place where geek is chic!
But before you jump to conclusions, we have a little bit of Cali swag, too. Stanford is located in Palo Alto, Calif. We are not too far from The City, also known as San Francisco. I recently attended Pac-12 women's basketball media day at the brand-new Pac-12 Studios in San Francisco and had a blast catching up with some of our friendly rivals.
This is a very exciting year for the sports lovers on the West Coast and around the nation because it is the inaugural year of the Pac-12 Network. This year, we’ll have 18 of our games broadcast nationwide, which is one of the most for any women's basketball team in the nation.
I can't believe that our season is already here. This is going to be a high-flying, moving and shaking year in the world of women's basketball, and you want to be, as Drake would say, "with us while we’re shootin’ in the gym!”
So, stay connected with me through my blog here at espnW.com and also on Twitter (@Chiney321). Ok, I may not have 260,000 followers like my girl Skylar, but I have got some swagtastic, nerdalicious tweeps that have joined the movement! #RiseNerdNation
Until we meet again.
