Louisville rides the 3 train to upset
Antonita Slaughter scored all 21 of her points against Baylor on 3-point attempts, going 7 of 9 from behind the arc.
Louisville’s stunner over No. 1 Baylor on Sunday night featured some, well, stunning statistics. The fifth-seeded Cardinals’ long-range shooting is at the top of the list. Of their 82 total points, 48 of them were scored on 3-pointers. The Cardinals, in fact, were more accurate from beyond the arc than they were from within the arc. They connected on 64 percent of their 3-point attempts (16 of 25) but just 35 percent of their 2-point attempts (11 of 31). The two biggest points of the game, though, came from the free-throw line, where the Cardinals shot 75 percent (12 of 16) in their 82-81 Sweet 16 win.
