Abby Wambach is no stranger to goal-scoring celebrations.
On this day in 2002, soccer star Abby Wambach scored her first international goal, against Finland, in a 3-0 win for the Americans. It also was her first career start and her second appearance for the red, white and blue. Now, 11 years later, she has scored 155 international goals and is just three behind Mia Hamm on the all-time list. The next time Wambach takes the field with the USWNT will be on June 2, coincidently her birthday. That game will be against Canada, which features Christine Sinclair, who is only 10 goals behind Wambach and third on the all-time list.
