Fast service at French Open
By Lizzie Haldane
Julia Goerges fell to Arantxa Rus in Paris a year ago.
Last year at the French Open, Germany's Julia Goerges clocked the fastest serve on the women’s side with a 125 mph shot. It was about 22 mph slower than the fastest serve on the men’s side, which was struck by Milos Raonic. To put that into perspective, for a Porsche 918 Spyder to go from zero to 125, it takes just under eight seconds. The 24th-seeded Goerges, whose best French Open result is the third round, opens against unseeded Zuzana Kucova.
