Before Ronda Rousey defends her UFC women's bantamweight title against Miesha Tate, we asked her five questions in "W Wants to Know."
What do you need to consider your day complete? I need to train. If I don't train in a day, then I just feel terrible. I almost feel like I have a film on my skin or something that I didn't get off. If I don't train, I somehow feel dirty. I have to break a sweat at least once in the day or else I feel bad.
What's one thing you know you will never do? Pose for Playboy. Every picture I take I want to make sure I would never be ashamed to show my children or family it. I never really want to show anything that I wouldn't show on the beach. I would be mortified if my kids were someday teased at school.
What song best describes your life? "Vienna" by Billy Joel. "Slow down you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile. If you're so smart, tell me why [are] you still so afraid. ..." I love that song. Billy Joel is my mom's favorite too. So if there's ever any music me and my mom can listen to, it's Billy Joel. Actually I was in Vienna and I was listening to that song walking around the streets of Vienna. It was so cool. And it was right after I won the Vienna World Cup, and it was my first time at 70 kilos, and it was a really, really special time and I always kind of hold that song dear.
What's one thing you want to do outside the octagon? Skydive. I've never done it. I've gone bungee jumping a bunch of times but never skydived. I'm an extremist and it seems like one of the most extreme things to do. I'd like to say that I did it.
What's your biggest weakness? If I like somebody -- if I really like somebody -- I'm the biggest pushover ever. I'm not Miss Alpha Chick. If I'm into somebody, then I'm the biggest baby. I let so much slide. I'm the worst. My biggest weakness is a man who has my attention. That's probably why I'm so guarded about who I give my attention to.
