The NFL really can’t get a story straight these days. Even when the topic is as simple and delightful as cookies. On Wednesday, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel told Minneapolis Star Tribune reporter Matt Vensel that wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson brings him cookies in an attempt to secure more passes thrown his way.

Sounds like a delicious idea to me. Except, that is, it turns out this isn’t true. On Thursday, Patterson told Vensel that he has never brought Cassel cookies.
