Sabine Lisicki might have been eliminated in the first round of the WTA Tour Bank of the West Classic on Tuesday but you can’t accuse her of not making the most of her brief appearance at the tournament. During her match against Ana Ivanovic, the German star hit a record-breaking 131 mph serve. Yes, you read that correctly. The ridiculously fast serve tops Venus Williams’ previous world record mark of 129 miles per hour. Because if you’re going to go home early, you might as well do it while securing your spot in the world record books.
Even Lisicki seemed OK with the consolation prize. I know this because she includes both a smiley face AND strong arm emoji in her tweet after the match.
