GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Two years ago, it was skeet shooting. Last year, it was dodgeball. This year, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy took his team bowling.
Somewhere, former Lions coach Jim Schwartz must be wondering if that's where he went wrong during his failed tenure in Detroit.
Remember, Schwartz appeared to be mocking the Packers in 2012 when his team held a regular minicamp practice and had "no sporting clays today or no amusement parks or water parks."
As expected, McCarthy called off the second of three minicamp practices scheduled for today and took his coaches and players on their annual team-building exercise.
The Packers will return to the practice field on Thursday to wrap up the offseason program.
Incidentally, Schwartz's new team, the Buffalo Bills -- where he was hired as defensive coordinator after getting fired by the Lions following last season -- went on a team-building activity of their own in lieu of an OTA practice last week.
Guess where Schwartz’s new boss, Bills coach Doug Marone, took his team?
That’s right, to shoot paintballs.
