GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Coach Mike McCarthy likes symmetry to his schedule, and he got it with a pair of Saturday games to open the preseason.
About the only difference is Monday, when the Packers will hold a practice that is closed to the public (but open to reporters) at noon local time. Last Monday's practice was at 5:30 p.m. and was open to fans. Only two practices this week will be open, weather permitting.
Here's a look at this week's practice schedule (all times local):
Monday: Noon (closed to fans)
Tuesday: Noon (open to fans)
Wednesday: 11:45 a.m. (open to fans)
Just like last week, the players will be at the team facility on Thursday and Friday but will not practice Thursday and will hold a short walk-through session on Friday before they leave for St. Louis.
The following week will be different because the third preseason game is on a Friday night, Aug. 22 against the Oakland Raiders. The Packers then close the preseason with a Thursday night game, Aug. 28 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
