Practice report: Flynn takes starter's reps
By Rob Demovsky
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- If the portion of Thursday’s practice that was open to reporters was any indication, it appears the Green Bay Packers are preparing to play without quarterback Aaron Rodgers again.
Rodgers once again went through the individual drills, but when the Packers went to their first team (11-on-11) period, Matt Flynn was back under center. Even backup Scott Tolzien took a few snaps, while all Rodgers did was stand off to the side with quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo.
On Wednesday, coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers still had not been fully cleared from his broken collarbone. Nevertheless, Flynn said he and Rodgers split snaps in Wednesday’s practice.
Rodgers is expected to speak to reporters after practice.
The first portion of practice was held inside the Don Hutson Center before heading outside to prepare for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lambeau Field.
