Ty Moore swings away

By Andrew Knepper

Ty Moore, 1B/OF/RHP, out of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) High School is one of California’s premier bats in the 2012 graduate class. He is currently committed to play for coach John Savage at UCLA.
If you watch Moore in one batting practice session, you are going to recognize his left-handed swing until he stops playing the game. He has a pronounced bat twirl as he gets loaded, it seems to serve as a timing mechanism, but once he gets set, he is a great position to unload. He has extremely quick hands and good present power and always make solid contact.
Built stocky and strong at 6-foot-0, 190 pounds, it seems as if he has filled into his body so there is not much room for additional growth. Some people see him as an pitcher, but it seems that he will be a full time outfielder moving onto the next level.
