Anthony Asante, who helped Monroe College to a junior college national runner-up finish this past season, confirmed Thursday that he will transfer to Syracuse to complete his college eligibility.

The Parkchester, N.Y., native had 26 goals and 10 assists while playing forward for two seasons at Monroe College. He was a JuCo first-team All-America selection following the 2010 season. This year's team has yet to be announced.

Asante joins a Syracuse recuiting class that includes New York natives Alex Bono, Noah Rhynhart, Morgan Smith and Stefanos Stamoulacatos, along with Pennsylvania product Harrison Kendall and Canadians Alex Halis and Raphael Reynolds.
