Nigel Robinson, one of the leading scorers for the DC United under-15/16 Development Academy squad, has verbally committed to the University of Maryland, his family confirmed Tuesday.

Robinson, a Class of 2013 prospect from Virginia, has scored two goals in three DC United appearances this season. Overall, DC United's under-15/16 team is 4-0-1.

He was a high school standout at Forest Park (Woodbridge, Va.) last season, earning Washington Post second-team All-Met honors.

Robinson is the third confirmed commitment to Maryland for the Class of 2013, joining Alex Crognale of Ohio and Zackary Steffen from Pennsylvania.
