Ward Gavin, a Class of 2012 goalkeeper prospect from North Carolina, has committed to join Navy's program in 2013, according to his family.
Gavin is a senior at Providence (Charlotte, N.C.). He plays club soccer for Charlotte United FC.
At Providence this past fall, he earned all-conference, all-region and Goalkeeper of the Year honors in the Southwestern 4A Conference. He plans to travel, study and play soccer in Germany next school year before entering the Naval Academy in the fall of 2013.
He is the first commitment to Navy for the Class of 2013.
