Weston standout commits to Stony Brook

Martin Giordano, a Class of 2012 midfielder prospect from Weston, Fla., verbally committed to Stony Brook, he confirmed to ESPNHS.

Giordano plays for Weston FC in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, where he has scored four goals in 13 matches.

He also plays for Cypress Bay (Weston, Fla.), which is currently No. 3 in the POWERADE FAB 50 winter soccer rankings. Last season, Giordano received Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel all-county honors after helping Cypress Bay to a state title. He is a four-year varsity starter and the team captain for the 2011-12 season.

Giordano joins a recruiting class that includes Myles Bent, James Brostowski Jr. and Jesse Inkles from New York.
