UMBC adds former DC United player

Michael Burgos, who has ties to the Washington, D.C., area, has committed to play college soccer at UMBC, he confirmed to ESPNHS.

Burgos was a Class of 2010 graduate of Calverton School (Huntingtown, Md.). He played club soccer for DC United's U.S. Soccer Development Academy team. Following high school graduation, Burgos moved to England where he continued his education and played soccer.

He will be considered a freshman at UMBC, he said.

Burgos joins a UMBC recruiting class that includes: Billy Heavner of Pennsylvania, Mamadou Kansaye and Patrick Pilawe Pato of Maryland and Matt Schwarz of Texas.
