Jared Odenbeck, a Class of 2013 defender from Charlotte, N.C., confirmed to ESPNHS that he has verbally commited to Georgetown.

Odenbeck plays club soccer for Charlotte Soccer Academy in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He has started all four matches for Charlotte's under-15/16 team this season. Last season, he started 23 of 28 matches while Charlotte rolled up a 21-2-2 regular-season showing.

Odenbeck played high school soccer for Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, N.C.), where he was an all-state performer as a central midfielder. He also was a team captain and named team MVP.

In the past year, Odenbeck was invited to former US Men’s National Team Coach Steve Sampson’s College Showcase Training Center in Oxnard, Calif., and was named to the Georgetown University Residential Camp All-Star team.

He is the second confirmed commitment to Georgetown for the Class of 2013, joining Brett Campbell.

Other Schools Considered: Stanford, Wake Forest, Virginia.

Why Georgetown?: "The thing that really sold me on Georgetown was the blend of an already good program that is on the rise and exceptional academics. They are additionally upgrading their facilities for the year that I will be coming in, so I really couldn't go wrong. Also, I felt very comfortable with the coaching staff there, and I was really impressed with campus when I visited, not to mention that D.C. is a great area."
