Colin Sweeney, a Class of 2012 defender from Massachusetts, confirmed that he committed to High Point over the weekend.
Sweeney helped Algoniun (Northborough, Mass.) win the Central Mass Division 1 high school championship last fall. Sweeney plays club soccer for the New England Revolution in the US Soccer Development Academy.
Before joining the Revolution, Sweeney played for FC Blazers at the U15-17 age groups and won a Massachusetts State Cup at U16. He was a member of the state ODP program from the U13-17 age groups, making the Region I ODP team at U16.
Sweeney is the fourth confirmed commitment to High Point, joining Westin Lendon, Matt Tysinger and Austin Yearwood.
