Tim Whalen, an all-state performer in high school last school year and current member of Oakwood SC in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, confirmed Sunday that he has committed to Brown University.

Whalen started 23 of 27 matches last season for Oakwood, helping the club to a third-place division finish.

At RHAM (Hebron, Conn.), Whalen earned all-state honors and all-Hartford Courant honors. He was a team captain and tied for the team-lead with seven goals.

Whalen joins a Brown recruiting class that includes Tariq Akeel, Mason Case, Will Cross, Jack Gorab and Jameson Lochhead.
