UNC Charlotte lands SC United defender

Luke Waechter, a starting defender for the South Carolina United Battery under-17/18 Development Academy squad, has verbally committed to UNC Charlotte.
Waechter hails from Georgia, although plays club soccer in South Carolina.
He has played in seven of the team's nine matches for the first-place South Carolina United Battery. Last season, he started 20 of his 22 appearances for the under-15/16 team.
Waechter has played high school soccer at Greenbrier (Evans, Ga.) and he was a former Georgia ODP participant.
He is the third confirmed commitment to UNC Charlotte, joining Brandon Kardos and Kyle Parker.
