Connor Maloney, a Class of 2013 prospect and all-state high school performer in soccer and football, has verbally committed to Penn State, ESPNHS learned Monday.

Maloney is a starter for the PA Classics' under-15/16 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. At Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.), he scored 40 goals and had 26 assists to earn all-state honors this past fall and served as the school's place-kicker, where he was an all-state performer in 2010.

Maloney is the No. 38-rated Class of 2013 prospect in the ESPNHS 150.

Last summer, he helped the PA Classics to the Academy Finals Week, where he ended up as the team's leading scorer. He was named to the East Coast Starting XI and was selected for the Academy select game in Florida in December. This season, he has one goal in five matches.

In high school, his 40-goal season earned him Divsion player of the year and Central Pennsylvania Big 11 honors from the Harrisburg Patriot-News. His 242 kicking points already stands as a school record.

Maloney is the second confirmed Class of 2013 commitment to Penn State, joining Colton Amidon from Pennsylvania.
