Ben Myers, who was featured on ESPNHS during his senior high school season in 2011, has decided to transfer from Clemson to Michigan State.
Myers saw action in 14 of Clemson's 18 matches, starting four as a freshmen this past season. His lone goal ended up being a game-winner.
The midfielder from Charlevoix, Mich., was lightly recruited out of high school until joining the Vardar under-17/18 team in the U.S. Development Academy. In high school, at Charlevoix (Charlevoix, Mich.), Myers was a two-time Michigan Division III first-team all-state selection and was the school’s all-time leading scorer with 87 goals and 67 assists.
Myers joins a Michigan State recruiting class that includes Zachary Bennett of Texas, Jay Chapman of Canada, Andrew Herr of Pennsylvania, Zach Hollstrom of Missouri and Michigan natives Sean Conerty, Jerome Cristobal, Brent McIntosh and Luke Norman.
