Arsenal midfielder opts for UC Riverside

Jacob Arrieta, a Class of 2012 midfielder prospect from California, has verbally committed to UC Riverside, he confirmed.

Arrieta plays for Arsenal FC in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He has started all seven matches for Arsenal this season and has scored one goal.

He attends Cajon (San Bernadino, Calif.). Arrieta is the first confirmed commitment to UC Riverside for the Class of 2012.

Other Schools Considered: Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine.

Why UC Riverside?: "UCR is close to home, and after watching a few games and talking with the staff and players, I felt very comfortable and I feel this athletic program and university fit me very well. I believe I myself will be successful in school as well as in soccer by going to this university."
