SC United defender picks Gamecocks

Andrew Davis, a Class of 2013 defender prospect from Mount Pleasant, S.C., has verbally committed to South Carolina, ESPNHS learned Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound back has started 22 of the 23 matches played by South Carolina United's under-15/16 Development Academy team, which currently leads the Southeast Division race.

Davis plays high school soccer for Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.), which won a South Carolina state title last season and is ranked No. 1 in the state this season and No. 5 in the POWERADE Spring FAB 50.

Davis joins club and high school teammate Hamilton Carlin, club teammates Eli Dent and Koty Millard and Mississippi native Ive Burnett as South Carolina's Class of 2013 commits.
