Check here to see which teams may be going up, which ones going down in next week’s state rankings, the 15th of the 2011 season and before the CIF state bowl games.

After Westlake of Westlake Village outlasted Oaks Christian 49-42 to win the CIF Southern Section Northern Division title on Friday, the Warriors (14-0) appear to be a shoo-in to be chosen on Sunday to play in this year’s CIF Open Division state final.

The real drama in Southern California, therefore, seems to be for the Division I berth.

Vista Murrieta improved to 14-0 on-the-field after it won over Centennial of Corona, but the Broncos are 9-5 including five forfeit losses and it’s unknown how those forfeits will be viewed by the CIF state selection committee.

Bakersfield, meanwhile, went to 13-0 with a 38-3 romp past Bullard of Fresno in the CIF Central Section Division I final. The Drillers need Vista Murrieta to be viewed more for its 9-5 record than 14-0 and also needed Santa Margarita (12-2) to win the CIFSS Pac-5 final on Saturday over San Clemente (12-2), which happened.
