California preseason top 50 football teams

The Cal-Hi Sports preseason overall outlook on the state's teams takes it 50 teams in depth. De La Salle of Concord, which has won the last two CIF Open Division state bowl games, starts out in the No. 1 position. The team will face a severe test on Sept. 23 when it plays at St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), which was the No. 1 team in the POWERADE FAB 50 for the nation last season. The first regular season state football rankings by Cal-Hi Sports will be after games played during Labor Day weekend. For writeups on all 50 teams, check out the following page:
