Cal-Hi Sports Top 25 Weekend Scoreboard

Check here to see which teams may be going up, which ones going down in next week’s state rankings, the 10th of the 2011 regular season.

Hardly any will be going up. The first 23 teams from last week’s rankings were all winners with the only ranked team to fall being Loyola of Los Angeles. And it’s not like the Cubs slipped up against a weaker team. Their 28-14 loss was to Alemany of Mission Hills, which would have been No. 26 last week.

The regular season ended for almost every team in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, other than the handful that are playing on Saturday. It will end next week everywhere else. Many games next week will be played on Thursday night as opposed to Friday since Friday is the Veterans Day holiday.

We went the small school route Friday and checked out possible CIF Division IV state bowl game participant Le Grand. Next week, we’ll be in Southern California with Westlake vs. St. Bonaventure on Thursday and then on the way back up north it will be the battle of Lompoc on Friday for the Braves vs. Cabrillo. Lompoc (9-0) has been No. 1 in the CIF Division III South rankings since an early win over Arroyo Grande. Cabrillo will come into that game at 8-1.
