Xavier QB Boyle drawing D-I interest

As noted in this piece today by ESPN recruiting blogger Roger Brown, one of Xavier's best football prospects is junior quarterback Tim Boyle. Though the plan is for Boyle to split snaps with senior Pat D'Amato this season, Boyle spent his summer impressing coaches at various college camps.

Brown's story mentions that Boyle already has offers from Syracuse and Boston College.

Boyle is more of a pro-style quarterback. He landed his scholarship offers after attending camps at BC and Syracuse during the summer. He also attended camps at Connecticut, Rutgers and Temple.

"Since Sept. 1 I've been getting a bunch of mail and email," Boyle said. "UConn, Temple and Rutgers are all recruiting me, and I'd say heavily. They're all inviting me to their home games."

It will be interesting to see how Boyle performs this season in limited playing time. Xavier opens the season at No. 2 in our POWERADE state rankings.
