At the beginning of the season we ranked Miller Grove, Columbia and Milton as the top three teams in the state. The trio held up their end of the bargain by capturing state titles this past weekend, therefore the top three teams remain the same - albeit in a different order.

Milton takes top billing after copping its second title in four years. The win caps the career of Evan Nolte, who was an integral piece in the Eagles playing in four consecutive title games. The team should remain in contention next year with the return of sophomores Jalyn Patterson and Tevin Glass.

Columbia was the most consistent squad in the state, securing a spot in the POWERADE FAB 50 the entire season and falling only once. The squad won its third straight state title and will return several key pieces led by guard Tahj Shamsid-Deen. No. 3 Miller Grove overcame a tough start to complete a four-peat in Class AAAA. Led by McDonald's All-American Tony Parker and the emergence of Justin Colvin, the Wolverines were nearly unbeatable in the state of Georgia.

State champs Laney (AA) and Whitefield Academy (A) also made the final top 10. In all, four of our preseason top 10 squads cut down the nets this past weekend. Congrats to all the teams and we'll see you next winter.

Here's a look at the final top three:

1. Milton (29-4) — last week No. 1
2. Columbia (31-1) — last week No. 2
3. Miller Grove (24-9) — last week No. 3
*Milton had to forfeit three wins for using an ineligible player
