One of the bigger stories in Georgia baseball this season is Rock Rucker's unexpected transfer to a school in Alabama, which left a big hole in Redan's roster. The Raiders, who were ranked in our preseason poll, got off to a poor start this year but have rebounded to win three straight to push their record to 7-4. The Rucker-less Raiders are a team to watch as the season progresses.
Columbus remains on top of the rankings after beating previously ranked Brookwood, 3-0. Gainesville moves up to the No. 2 spot after Grenbrier dropped back-to-back games. Parkview has regained its winning formula and is back in the region rankings at No. 14 in the Southeast. We also welcome Houston County to this week's rankings as the squad has moved up to No. 2 in Class AAAA.
Here's a look at the top three teams:
1. Columbus (8-0) — last week No. 1
2. Gainesville (11-0) — last week No. 3
3. Parkview (7-2) — last week No. 6
