Greenbrier moves into top 5 in rankings

Admit it, the rankings were getting a little boring the last few weeks since our top 10 didn't see many new faces. Well, that changes today as a pair of teams make their rankings debut this week. Checking in at No. 8 is a Grayson team that has won 10 of its last 11 contests and features junior LHP/OF Austin Meadows, who could emerge as the top pick in the 2013 MLB Draft. The Rams replace LaGrange, which fell to 17-7 on the season. Winder-Barrow is the other new squad and also features a talented junior expected to make some noise in next year's draft. Travis Demeritte is a stud infielder and his bat has helped power the Doggs to 17-6 mark. They could be a sleeper pick in Class AAAA.

The top four remains intact while Greenbrier and Appling County swapped places at the five and six spots. Despite a loss last week, Darlington is clinging to its spot at No. 10.

Here's a look at the top of the rankings:

1. Columbus (22-1) — last week No. 1

2. Gainesville (22-0) — last week No. 2

3. Crisp County (21-0) — last week No. 3
