Jason Kenworthy/ESPNHS"It's been a crazy ride," Lakey Peterson said. "Carissa is one of my favorite surfers and I'm just so stoked to win right now."Lakey Peterson, a 17-year-old surfer from Santa Barbara, Calif., won the 2012 Nike U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, Calif.
Peterson, who was the runner-up at the Open in 2011, defeated 19-year-old former world champion Carissa Moore 10.90-8.64.
Peterson is the youngest surfer on the women's ASP tour.
