Sara Waters, a Class of 2013 forward from Shorewood, Wis., has verbally committed to Wisconsin.

Waters is a key offensive threat for FC Milwaukee of the ECNL and plays for the squad year-round. She has made a name for herself at ECNL national events, including being named to the All-Event team at last year’s event in Temecula, Calif. She noted a strong family connection to Wisconsin, and her older sister currently attends the university.

Waters becomes the fifth confirmed commit to Wisconsin for the Class of 2013, joining Caitlyn Clem, Kylie Schwarz, Rose Lavelle and Micaela Powers.

Other Schools Considered: Marquette, Portland, Santa Clara, Penn State

Why Wisconsin?: "Although I considered other schools, I always knew it would be Wisconsin in the end. My sister who is a freshman there now along with both my parents and many more of my family went to Madison and I really want to carry on the tradition. The coaching staff is great and the academics excel as well. Also Madison is such a fun and beautiful campus. I just can picture myself their perfectly."

What did you learn about the recruiting process?: "I learned how fun the recruiting process is. It’s so exciting to see schools you want to play for on the sidelines of your game watching you play. I loved having a little bit of that pressure when playing a game. But also I thought going on my unofficial was so great. I got to meet players and learn the team atmosphere. Although it went by quick, I thought the process was really fun."
