Abbie LaVigna, a Class of 2013 midfielder and defender from McMurray, Pa., has verbally committed to Kent State, her family has confirmed.

LaVigna helped Peters Township (McMurray, Pa.) to back-to-back Pennsylvania Class AAA state championships. Over the past two seasons, Peters Township has posted a 43-5-1 record and has allowed just one goal in eight playoff matches.

On the club side, LaVigna plays for Beadling SC. This spring, the squad won its second Pennsylvania-West State Cup title.

LaVigna becomes the fifth confirmed commitment to Kent State for the Class of 2013, joining Abbie Lawson, Megan Lindbert, Brittany Maisano and Morgan Williams.
