Player: Evan Trychta
School: Naperville North
The Word: Naperville North soccer is currently ranked No. 2 in the state (and No. 20 nationally in the POWERADE FAB 50), and now that Trychta seems fully recovered from a foot injury suffered over the summer, the team should really take off. Trychta doesn't really need the regular season, anyway — he proved himself to be one of the premier strikers in the state last year, especially in the postseason. As a junior, he led Naperville North in goals (19) and assists (10), and he scored at least one goal in every playoff game, pushing the Huskies to the Class 3A semifinals. Now a senior and fronting a championship favorite, Trychta is a contender for Gatorade State Player of the Year honors.
