Jabari Parker draws a crowd at Simeon open gym

By By Mike Grimala

As detailed by Scott Powers in this ESPNChicago story, Simeon's open gym yesterday had all the star power of a Hollywood red carpet premier. The main attraction was junior forward Jabari Parker, the top-ranked player in the ESPNU Super 60.

Duke is making it no secret that Parker is the Blue Devils' top target in the Class of 2013. Mike Krzyzewski was on hand at the open gym, along with two assistant coaches. But he wasn't the only superstar coach in attendance.

From ESPNChicago:
Krzyzewski was among 40 coaches who took in Simeon's open gym Tuesday. DePaul coach Oliver Purnell, Illinois coach Bruce Weber, Kansas coach Bill Self, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, North Carolina coach Roy Williams, Ohio State coach Thad Matta and Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy were among the coaches in attendance.

"It was crazy," Simeon coach Rob Smith said of all of the coaches. "It's something I've never been around in my years of coaching."

Parker has said his recruitment is wide open, with no early favorites yet. And it looks like he'll have no shortage of options when it comes time to make his decision.
