Now that we're deep into the football playoffs, it's natural to start thinking about awards. The Gatorade State Player of the Year is one of the most prestigious honors, and Joel Beck recently spent some time giving his thoughts on the Indiana race. Beck names Colombus East quarterback Gunner Kiel and Floyd Central running back Kyle Bramble as frontrunners for the Gatorade POY.
Kiel has passed for 1,710 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Bramble has run for 2,85 yards and 47 touchdowns. Kiel's Colombus East team is still alive in the IHSAA playoffs, set to take on Evansville Central in the 4A quarterfinals on Friday.
