St. Andrew's (Boca Raton, Fla.) junior attacker Conor Whipple came one goal short of tying the national record when he scored nine goals in a 16-9 win over Benjamin School (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) on Saturday.

Whipple is the No. 25 player in the ESPNHS Top 50 junior list and his nine goals is the most scored in a single game so far this season.

The National High School Federation has two 10 goal games as the record for most goals in a game. Greg Miller from Corning East (Corning, N.Y.) in 1980 and David Puccia from Immaculate Heart Central (Watertown, N.Y.) in 1998 currently share the record. ESPNHS confirmed 10-goal games by Hoggard (Wilmington, N.C.) attacker Hunter Edens and Kettle run (Nokesville, Va.) attacker Patrick McCann last season.

St. Andrew's improved its record to 5-0 with the win. Whipple has 24 goals this season.

ESPNHS will be updating its 2012 Season Leaders list weekly. If we are missing a performance e-mail Mike Loveday at Michael.Loveday@espn.com.
