Florida junior sets national goal record

Lisa Wheeler/ESPNHSHarris Stolzenberg from Pine Crest (Fla.) set the national record for most goals scored in a game.Stolzenberg, who was a Philly Lacrosse Showcase All-Star selection, scored 13 goals and tallied six assists in the win.
The 13 goals breaks the previous record of 12 goals in a game set by Robert Allen of Medina (N.Y.) in 2008 as recorded by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) lists the record for most goals in a game at 10 by Greg Miller of Corning East (Corning, N.Y.) in 1980 and David Puccia of Immaculate Heart Central (Watertown, N.Y.) in 1998.
Stolzenberg’s 19 points also sets the 2012 season-best mark, besting the previous standard of 14 points by University School (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) junior Michael Feldman.
The national record for most points in a game is 21 by Jimmy Lewis of Uniondale (N.Y.), set in 1961 as recorded by the NYSPHSAA. The NFHS has the record at 15 by Puccia.
According to Pine Crest’s team page, Stolzenberg tallied his goals and assists in the first half of the win and has 76 goals and 41 assists this season.
