By Brett Manney
Each week during the 2012 season, ESPNHS Lacrosse will select a player from each of four regions as Player of the Week.
To submit a player for consideration fill out our submission form here. Please be sure to provide the player’s entire week worth of performances. Athletes can earn Player of the Week honors just once during the 2012 regular season.
The following players are for the week of April 22-28
Henry Blynn, Sr., Haverford School (Haverford, Pa.), attack Blynn was the straw that stirred the drink for the Fords in their 13- 8 win over public school rival Conestoga (Berwyn, Pa.) on April 28 at the Katie Samson Festival. The Brown recruit tallied nine points on seven goals and two assists. Haverford continues to roll, winning their last 12 games behind Blynn’s big season.
Conor Whipple, Jr., St. Andrew’s (Boca Raton, Fla.), attack Whipple displayed his scoring touch in a 20-11 route of Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) in the second round of the state tournament on April 27. The Scots broke open a close game in the fourth quarter with eight unanswered goals with Whipple leading the charge. The future Georgetown Hoya finished the game with seven goals and one assist.
Jaden Franklin, Fr., Kent Denver (Englewood, Colo.), midfield Franklin shined last weekend against Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School (St. Louis, Mo.) on April 27. In the Sun Devils' 15-6 win, Franklin had his best scoring game of his career, contributing three goals. For the Sun Devils to compete for a state championship they will need more solid games from their promising midfielder. Franklin has nine goals and three assists in his freshman season.
Dan Bausman, Sr., Eagan (Eagan, Minn.), attack The Wildcats finishing attackman had quite a week. First against Burnsville (Lakeville, Minn.) on April 23, Bausman found the back of the net four times and then followed that up with six goals against Lakeville North (Lakeville, Minn.) on April 26. Opponents will have a difficult time covering the attackman who is making the most of his opportunities this season in Minnesota.
