This week's edition of the "Game of the Year" once again ended with No. 1 Everett coming out on top, as the Crimson Tide turned away No. 3 BC High, 35-21. While the win helped solidify Everett as the undisputed best team in the state, BC High suffered an even greater defeat, as star RB Preston Cooper was forced to leave the game with a potentially devastating injury.
ESPNBoston is reporting that it's a dislocated ankle for Cooper, which would likely end the senior's high school career. Can BC High recover from that hit? The Eagles are still the top-ranked team in Division 1 and a Super Bowl favorite, but Cooper was their game breaker. It'll be interesting to see how this affects the offensive attack going forward.
Elsewhere in the POWERADE state rankings, Bridgewater-Raynham toppled Xaverian in double-overtime. The Trojans now jump into the rankings, settling in at No. 5. After starting 4-0 on the season, Xaverian has now dropped three games in a row.
