Name: Adam Coon
School: Fowlerville
Sport: Wrestling

Got Game: There are a lot of ways to describe Coon's impressive wrestling career thus far. But world champion? That's the most impressive by far. The senior, who's the reigning Division 1 state champ at 215 pounds, won a Cadet World Championship in Hungary, beating a competitor from the nation of Georgia in the 100 kg (220 pound) freestyle category. He's the first American to win a world championship in the event since 1999. That's a pretty impressive accomplishment to bring into this season's competition. Let's see what the grappler can do next.

Name: Max Whipple
School: Bloomfield Hills Roeper
Sport: Soccer

Got Game: At the start of the season, Whipple was expected to be a nice role player who could earn some valuable experience and contribute on occasion. Instead he's become one of Roeper's best players. The freshman added another page to his storybook season by scoring the game-winning goal with one second remaining in double-overtime to help his team earn a 3-2 win over Lutheran Westland on Saturday. Whipple has also made contributions in several other games this season. On Sept. 15 he tallied two scores against Gennessee Christian. Thanks in part to the efforts of the stellar freshman, Roeper is 13-1 this season.

Got Game: Stephen Galindo

Name: Stephen Galindo

School: Detroit Catholic Central

Sport: Soccer

Got Game: Catholic Central has already played four games in the early portion of the season, and Galindo already has three shutouts. The senior posted clean sheets in wins against Temperance Bedford (4-0) and Clarkston (2-0). He also helped the Shamrocks earn a 0-0 draw against Ann Arbor Pioneer. To this point in the season, only Troy has beaten the keeper — just once in a 1-0 win to open the season. If Galindo continues to play such a high level of soccer in goal this season, the Shamrocks will be one of the state's most dangerous teams.

Got Game: Dennis Norfleet

Name: Dennis Norfleet
School: Detroit King
Sport: Football

Got Game: After racking up more than 1,900 yards and scoring 31 touchdowns last season, it’s easy to see why several top football programs have offered Norfleet a scholarship. But not so fast – the 5-foot-7 senior running back is also a very talented basketball player. He averaged 15 points, five steals and four assists per game last season. Still, football is his main sport, and the Under Armour All-American finally made his decision by committing to Cincinnati over the summer.

Got Game: Brett Forman

Name: Brett Forman
School: Troy
Sport: Tennis

Got Game: Down a set in the Division I state final last fall, Forman didn’t lose his nerve. It didn’t matter that he was a sophomore competing against a three-time state finalist. He bore down and gutted out a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory to claim the No. 1 singles crown. It was the end to a dominant run in which he lost just six games over his three matches prior to the finals. He’ll be the heavy favorite to repeat as singles champion this season. Check back with this blog as the season progresses as we track the status of Forman's repeat efforts.

Got Game: Zach Carroll

AM ET
Name: Zach Carroll
School: Grand Blanc
Sport: Soccer

Got Game: Carroll missed four games last season. He also spent the early part of the year on defense after the Bobcats lost several defensive starters to graduation. He was later moved up to the midfield, and he still managed to score 13 goals and add 12 assists on the season. That’s just a glimpse of how dynamic Carroll is in the middle of the pitch. The senior All-State Dream Team pick, who's committed to Michigan, is highly rated in the Class of 2012, and he was recently named to the "Starting 11" team comprised of the top soccer players in the Mid-East region by ESPNHS.

Name: Connor Mora
School: Cedar Springs
Sport: Cross Country

Got Game: After finishes of 15th as a freshman and fifth last year at the Division 2 state meet, Mora has to be at the top of the list of the favorites for this season's individual state crown. The junior posted an impressive time of 15:39, which was 20 seconds behind the winner. Mora also boosted his credentials by finishing 35th at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional. He was the 10th underclassman and first sophomore finisher at the prestigious race.
