Andre McDonald is Minnesota’s best deep threat

August, 22, 2011
Andre McDonaldCarlos Gonzalez/ESPNHSHopkins senior receiver Andre McDonald is rated the state's No. 1 player in the ESPNU 150.

Hopkins senior Andre McDonald graced the cover of the September issue of our ESPNHS Minnesota magazine, which hit schools this week. McDonald is the nation's No. 31 wide receiver in the ESPNU 150.

Last season, McDonald exploded for 1,144 yards and 19 touchdowns. He recorded seven games with 100 yards or more, and he also played on the basketball team — a team which won a state championship. This year, McDonald is hoping to start for the basketball team, but first thing's first — he wants to win a football state title.

For more on McDonald's impressive game and why his best play of last season came without him ever touching the ball, check out his story here.
