NOTE: These are the final POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Baseball Rankings of the season.

The state tournament games are over and there were quite a few interesting shakeups in the lead-up to the state title games. After the dust has settled, we have a new state champ. Eastview, which entered the state tournament with a 20-4 record but unranked, dispatched of its foes and claimed the Class AAA title in addition to bursting in to take over the top spot in the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. Other state champs include Holy Family Catholic in Class AA and St. Agnes in Class A. Congratulations to all the state champions.

1. Eastview (23-4) Last week: NR

2. Bemidji (25-3) Last week: No. 5

3. Red Wing (22-2) Last week: No. 1

In what is the penultimate edition of the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings, two of our top three teams have fallen. Red Wing has held on to its top spot and will begin its march to the state title game on Wednesday against Eastview. But West Lutheran and Maple Grove couldn't advance to state and have fallen by the wayside, leaving unbeaten Washburn, one of the top teams in Class AA, to move into the second spot. Check back next week for our final rankings following Monday's state championship games, weather permitting.

1. Red Wing (22-1) Last week: No. 1

2. Washburn (25-0) Last week: No. 2

3. St. Cloud Cathedral (22-5) Last week: No. 3

This week's installment of the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings brings a bombshell -- the top-ranked team, Burnsville, is out. Two losses in the sectional tournament has sent the Blaze home early. So too are top contenders such as Little Falls and Sleepy Eye St. Mary's, the latter of which chose a poor time to lose its first game of the season. So who's next up? Red Wing, a 22-1 squad that has held firm in our rankings for weeks waiting for an opportunity. They've gotten it, and now the Wingers sit at No. 1 in our rankings.

1. Red Wing (22-1) Last week: No. 5

2. West Lutheran (21-2) Last week: No. 2

3. Maple Grove (20-4) Last week: No. 3

Very little has changed as teams had slow weeks before the district tournaments began in earnest this past weekend. Of course, it only gets more compelling from here. Burnsville, West Lutheran and Maple Grove are still the front-runners and are ranked in the top 20 in the POWERADE Midwest Rankings, with Little Falls and Red Wing close behind. But anything can happen in the postseason, so high rankings don't necessarily mean positive results.

1. Burnsville (18-2) Last week: No. 1

2. West Lutheran (19-1) Last week: No. 2

3. Maple Grove (18-3) Last week: No. 3

There's just a small change near the top of our POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings this week. Burnsville, despite a loss, stays at No. 1, but it's the No. 2 and No. 3 teams, West Lutheran and Maple Grove, that have swapped places. West Lutheran continues to impress with just one loss on the season. Little Falls, which had been undefeated before this week, stands firm at No. 4. And most importantly, with the postseason edging ever closer, none of the teams in our top 10 have dropped out this week.

1. Burnsville (18-2) Last week: No. 1

2. West Lutheran (17-1) Last week: No. 3

3. Maple Grove (16-3) Last week: No. 2

At the top of the pile, not much has changed in the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. Burnsville continues to find a way to beat opponents and is now 16-1 on the season. West Lutheran continues to play a brand of baseball better suited for higher classifications and looks as dangerous as any team in the state. And Little Falls has kept its unbeaten streak alive. But this week we're moving Maple Grove up, as the Crimson are looking every bit the squad we expected them to be at the start of the season.

1. Burnsville (16-1) Last week: No. 1

2. Maple Grove (13-2) Last week: No. 4

3. West Lutheran (14-1) Last week: No. 3

We might have had a new No. 1 in this week's POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings, except that the top teams all suffered some serious losses. Eden Prairie's slide of four straight losses has taken them out of the top 10 entirely, proving that no team is immune. So the Blaze state atop No. 1...for now. Teams like West Lutheran and unbeaten Little Falls look to lay claim to the No. 1 ranking soon enough, while plenty of one-loss teams behind them have visions of moving up as well. It's a tightly packed field so far, and anything could happen.

1. Burnsville (12-1) Last week: No. 1

2. West Lutheran (12-1) Last week: No. 3

3. Little Falls (11-0) Last week: No. 4

Burnsville has accomplished its goal -- for now. The Blaze have outlasted Eden Prairie in the unbeaten ranks and can now lay claim to the honor of the state's top team (for this week, anyway) in the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. Burnsville looks tough, but it's had its share of close contests as well. And the Blaze aren't the state's lone unbeaten. Little Falls is unblemished at 10-0, while two new teams in the top 10 -- Hill-Murray and Red Wing -- both bring perfect records to the mix.

1. Burnsville (10-0) Last week: No. 2

2. Eden Prairie (7-1) Last week: No. 1

3. West Lutheran (9-1) Last week: No. 3

With three unbeaten teams in our top four (and four in our top seven) it might come down to whichever team is the last unbeaten is the No. 1 squad in the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. For now, Eden Prairie, which took over the top spot last week, holds on after a strong 4-0 week. But fellow unbeaten Burnsville is nipping on EP's heels, and newly minted top 10 teams Little Falls and Cretin-Derham Hall have plenty to prove this season as well. Who will fall last? Stay tuned.

1. Eden Prairie (6-0) Last week: No. 1

2. Burnsville (7-0) Last week: No. 2

3. West Lutheran (7-1) Last week: No. 4

After just one week, Eden Prairie has already ascended to the top spot in our POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. The season, which is just getting underway for most teams, has seen plenty of hot starts from most of our top preseason squads, so nobody drops out this week. Instead, EP takes the No. 1 slot with a very good Burnsville team right on its heels. Maple Grove, West Lutheran, Holy Family and St. Cloud Cathedral are all unbeaten as well in the early portion of the season, but with plenty of games left to play, that can and likely will change very shortly.

1. Eden Prairie (2-0) Last week: No. 2

2. Burnsville (4-0) Last week: No. 1

3. Maple Grove (3-0) Last week: No. 3

POWERADE Minnesota Hoops Rankings: Final

All season long, we touted the strength of the big four - Lakeville North, Hopkins, Eastview and Benilde-St. Margaret's. And yet, at the end of the season, the leader of the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings is Osseo, who sat quietly below all of the leaders until it was time to shine in the postseason. With a narrow win over Lakeville North in the title game, the Orioles are Class AAAA state champs and cap the year as our top team in the state. Other state champions included DeLaSalle, Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrose. Congratulations to all the state champs.

1. Osseo (30-2) Last week: No. 4

2. Lakeville North (30-2) Last week: No. 2

3. Hopkins (28-2) Last week: No. 1

At this time next week, we'll know who the Minnesota state hoops champs are, and we'll know who stands alone atop the POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings. All of the teams below have qualified for the state tournaments in their respective classifications, leaving out previous standout teams such as Benilde-St. Margaret's, whose late loss in the sectional tourney left them on the outside looking in. Still, Hopkins, Lakeville North and Eastview will do battle to determine the class of Class AAAA, and there are plenty of other teams in our rankings who have state title aspirations.

1. Hopkins (28-1) Last week: No. 4

2. Lakeville North (28-1) Last week: No. 1

3. Eastview (28-1) Last week: No. 2

Just when you thought the top teams couldn't get any closer, take a look at where the state's top teams stand now - the top four are a combined 108-4, and aside from Apple Valley, no team has more than two losses. That's a pretty daunting group to get past for teams on the bubble who still harbor dreams of a state title. Still, those records are just about meaningless as the state tournament draws closer. One loss can derail even the top teams in our POWERADE Minnesota Weekly Rankings, so stay tuned to find out how it all shakes out.

1. Lakeville North (27-1) Last week: No. 1

2. Eastview (27-1) Last week: No. 2

3. Benilde-St. Margaret's (27-1) Last week: No. 3

The district tournaments are almost in full swing, which means it won't be long before some of our top teams are on the outside looking in. One loss at this point in the season can take even a top-seeded team to the bubble teams for the rest of the year, while a bubble team can get hot and end the year No. 1. That's the beauty of the playoffs - it takes the guesswork out of our hands and lets the teams decide once and for all who's No. 1.

1. Lakeville North (25-1) Last week: No. 1

2. Eastview (25-1) Last week: No. 2

3. Benilde-St. Margaret's (25-1) Last week: No. 3
