Despite seeing its head coach depart for the NFL last week, Rutgers was still able to sign one of the nation's top players in Don Bosco Prep defensive lineman Darius Hamilton.

The senior, ranked No. 69 in the ESPNU 150 and son of former New York Giant Keith Hamilton, announced his decision Tuesday on the same day that fellow Ironmen and senior wideout Leonte Carroo solidified his commitment to the Scarlet Knights program.

Hamilton and Carroo weren't the only players from the reigning POWERADE FAB 50 champs to sign with Division I programs. Click here to see where five other Ironmen will be playing next fall.

Of course, National Signing Day is a 24-hour affair, so click here to follow all of the day's major news.

Yuri WrightDanny Wild/US PresswireYuri Wright is rated as the No. 4 cornerback in the ESPNU 150, but after being expelled from FAB 50 No. 1 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) for explicit tweets, his future could be up in the air.
In what could prove a cautionary tale to top recruits, Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) senior Yuri Wright was expelled Thursday for explicit comments he made on Twitter, according to The Star-Ledger. The tweets were racial in nature and sexually graphic, leading the school to take action against its star cornerback. Wright is ranked as the nation's No. 4 cornerback and No. 40 overall recruit by ESPNU.

Reports had swirled this week that Michigan had backed off recruiting Wright because of his tweets. Wright is also considering offers from Colorado, Notre Dame and Rutgers.

Kyle Anderson commits to UCLA basketball

As Kyle Anderson celebrates his 18th birthday today, he can bask in the fact that his college decision has been made. The highly touted St. Anthony senior swingman committed to UCLA's hoops program late Monday night.

Last night, Anderson posted on his Twitter account @KyleAnderson5: "Had a great family meeting. I've decided to be a UCLA BRUIN!!" He's also changed his avatar to a picture of him with a UCLA jersey on that says "Anderson" on the back. Pretty sick.

Following a 33-0 season that included a state championship and POWERADE FAB 50 national title with the Friars as well as an impressive summer on the AAU circuit, Anderson had narrowed his list down to UCLA, Georgetown, St. John's, Florida and Seton Hall. But in the end, the Bruins snagged the Boost Mobile Elite 24 co-MVP.

For more on Anderson's commitment, check out this story by ESPN basketball recruiting expert Dave Telep.
