By By Brandon Parker

Nazareth girls basketball coach Robert "Apache" Paschall died Tuesday, according to the school's AD. The long-time coach had been battling skin cancer at the time of his death and struggled with a number of ailments over the years.

Paschall was one of New York City's most successful and controversial coaches, leading St. Michael Academy to success until it closed before moving to Nazareth and building another powerhouse program. Along the way, he was investigated for illegal recruitment and had three players declared ineligible this season, but Paschall and his players were eventually cleared in both cases.
