Montay Brandon didn't need to see any other schools following his trip to Florida State last week. Midway through his official visit, the Wesleyan Christian senior was sold, leading him to commit to the Seminoles basketball program as he rode the elevator with an assistant coach, according to the Greensboro News & Record.
Last season, Brandon averaged 19 points, five rebounds and five assists as a junior, earning him the state's No. 9 spot in the ESPNU basketball rankings.
The 6-foot-7, 195-pound swingman will be the second major North Carolina product to head south to Tallahassee in as many years. Terry Whisnant, Cherryville's all-time leading scorer, is now a freshman on the Seminoles' squad.
